What is a wiki? Wiki is a system that allows everyone to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has simple text syntax for creating new pages and cross links between internal pages on the fly. Wiki also allows the organisation of contributions to be edited in addition to the content itself.
Bioinformatics is often defined as the development of new tools for the analysis of genomic and molecular biological data. However this is just one aspect of bioinformatics which can be considered a sub speciality within computer science, statistics or mathematics. Applied Bimatics is a much focused wiki which deals with application of bioinformatics tools in a clinical setting. Even this aspect of bioinformatics requires support from various biological and non biological specialities. This wiki is an attempt to collect contributions from all specialists in clinically relevant topics.
